Our purpose:
The Gender and Women's Studies Graduate Programme offers a two-year interdisciplinary curriculum. It aims to examine issues of knowledge, society and gender from a feminist perspective, in order to contribute to an understanding of women's social position and the inequality between women and men, primarily focusing on Turkey. The programme has a threefold mission of education, research and advocacy, and endeavours to achieve the following five goals:
To contribute to the development of education and research on gender and women's studies, both theoretically and in an applied manner.
To contribute to raising public awareness and sensitivity of the concept of gender, women's studies and the social position and issues facing women in society.
To sponsor institutional and policy-oriented initiatives to create gender sensitivity both on and off campus.
To benefit from and contribute to global developments in education, research and advocacy on gender issues.

Our next chapter:
Our interdisciplinary academic team, comprising members from the departments of sociology, psychology, political science and philosophy, is growing. We offer a wide range of up-to-date courses. With the support of our experienced academic staff, we are preparing our students to confidently face tomorrow's challenges regarding gender inequalities. Furthermore, we intend to leverage our academic expertise to raise awareness of gender equality issues within our university and beyond.

Careers after graduation:
Our graduates apply their academic skills and competence in both theoretical and empirical areas in international organisations such as the UN, public institutions and international and national non-governmental organisations.
